Neurosurgical Consultants, consists of expert Neurosurgeons who specialize in surgery of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. Neurosurgeons treat disorders of the brain such as tumors, abnormal vessels, trauma, and hemorrhages. Neurosurgeons also have expert specialty training in abnormalities of the spine such as herniated discs, spinal fractures, degenerative spines, spine tumors, and infections of the spine. Peripheral nerve compressions such as carpal tunnel and ulnar neuropathy are also treated by Neurosurgeons. Not all patients seen by a neurosurgeon require surgery. The highly trained team of Neurosurgical Consultants works closely with patients and their primary care physician to seek out conservative methods of treatment. Often conservative treatment is successful and surgery is avoided.
